Tubal factor is one of the most important causes among females. Tubal disorders with a prevalence of over 14% are the most common complications of pelvic inflammation and infection incidence in women. Case Presentation: A 28-year-old female patient, married for 5 years with the desire to have children, complaining of abdominal pain and dyspareunia, as well as fallopian tubes obstruction and hydrosalpinx with malodorous vaginal discharge for 3 years, was referred to the Traditional Medicine Clinic on July 18, 2016. As a result of fallopian tubes obstruction, she was a candidate for artificial insemination. After obtaining a history from the viewpoints of both modern and Iranian medicine, treatment was carried out on the patient in several stages based on Iranian medicine. Hysterosalpingography was performed at the end of the fourth month of treatment. It was reported that the fallopian tubes were open with no visible obstruction. So, the gynecologist allowed a normal pregnancy for the patient. Conclusion: The point of consideration in the treatment process of this disorder from the perspective of traditional medicine is the necessity of disinfecting the fallopian tubes to remove the obstruction. Given the lack of an accepted treatment for these patients, this study aimed to introduce a treatment commonly used by Iranian traditional therapists for the improvement of both maternal and fetal weight gain, which is based on nutrition with considerable therapeutic outcomes. Case Presentation: A 27-year-old female patient with singleton pregnancy at the 30th week of pregnancy was referred to the prenatalogy clinic at AkbarAbadi Hospital, Tehran, for routine examinations in February 2016. The fetus ultrasound showed a weight below the 10th percentile of the standard pregnancy weight, hence, IUGR was diagnosed. The mother was not malnourished according to the body mass index before pregnancy, the weight at the first visit, and the evaluation result obtained by the nutritional status questionnaire named recall questionnaire. The diet contained foods that create righteous, humid and warm phlegm in Iranian traditional medicine. The mother's dietaty needs were taken into account and one month prescription was done based on modern medicine. The examination and fetal health were monitored biweekly through phone calls and biometric ultrasound every two weeks. The patient returned to normal diet at the end of 34 weeks. An increase in fetal growth percentile from 10 to 50% was observed in the two ultrasounds performed two and four weeks after the treatment. Conclusion: The production of righteous, humid and warm phlegm by the recommended foods in Iranian Traditional Medicine consumed by the mother clearly improved the fetal growth within one month. When the recommended foods were discontinued and the mother returned to the previous nutritional status, the fetal growth showed a downward trend despite having received enough energy and protein.}, keywords = {Intrauterine Growth Retardation,Diet,Fetal,Iranian Traditional Medicine}, url = {https://www.ajcrtam.ir/article_27582.html}, eprint = {https://www.ajcrtam.ir/article_27582_830ca3f173089e3384ff79a956aba047.pdf} } @article { author = {Ghorat, Fereshteh and Afzali, Behzad and Salehipoor, Hassan}, title = {The Effectiveness of Topical Chamomile Oil in the Treatment of Infantile Colic Symptoms: A Case Report}, journal = {Asian Journal of Clinical Case Reports for Traditional and Alternative Medicine}, volume = {1}, number = {Issue 3-4}, pages = {27-32}, year = {2017}, publisher = {Department of Health, Hajtaleb Medical Complex of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, Bojnurd, Iran and Cooperation of (1) Deputy of Islamic Iranian Traditional Medicine, Ministry of Health, Tehran Iran; (2) Faculty of Traditional Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran; (3) Iranian Traditional Medicine Association, Tehran, Iran.}, issn = {2538-4686}, eissn = {2538-4686}, doi = {10.22040/ajcrtam.2017.27583}, abstract = {Background:Infantile colic is one of the most common causes for referral to pediatric clinics. Despite different treatments, physicians and parents are still facing difficulties in handling some cases of the disease. In this report, a different treatment is introduced for infantile colic control using Iranian Traditional Medicine. Case Presentation: A two-month old male infant with severe colicky abdominal pains for 5 weeks was referred to the pediatric clinic. Colic-driven cries of the infant had begun 21 days after birth and increased gradually to 5 h a day despite therapeutic interventions so that his parents were anxious to control the disorder. In addition to previous therapies, topical chamomile oil was recommended to be rubbed rotationally on the entire infant’s abdomen three times a day. At the end of the first day of treatment, the duration of the infant’s crying decreased by about 30 min compared to the pre-treatment day. At the end of the seventh day of treatment, the duration of crying significantly reduced to 3 h within 24 h. In addition to the reduction in the infant’s crying was an increase in his sleep time at the end of the seventh day. Conclusion: It seems that the topical application of chamomile oil as a complementary approach to ameliorate and reduce infantile colic symptoms can be considered as an appropriate and safe treatment. The purpose of this report is to provide the clinical experience of Iranian Integrative Medicine, which has the greatest therapeutic effect in the shortest period of time. Case Presentation: A 53-year-old man suddenly experienced persistent chest pain, six hours prior to his visit. This pain increased until his admission to the emergency department. Then, he was diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome and unstable angina. He was transferred to cardiac care, where he was treated for 4 days. The patient received coronary artery angiography at the time and by diagnosis of cardiovascular obstruction, he was chosen as an angioplasty candidate willingly submitting his surgical intervention to another time. The patient was placed under health and nutrition measures after entering the traditional medicine clinic one month after his discharge. Based on his temperament and condition of the disease, drug treatment in this patient included herbs, combined medications and modern cardiac drugs. Hand applications included a complete overhang on the back every night until the end of the healing and leech therapy. Leech therapy was applied on the ankle of the left leg and the forearm of the left arm. After a week, the patient completed the examination and leech therapy was applied on his chest (on the anatomical shadow of the heart). This process was carried out 5 times. The patient underwent angiography for 40 days after treatment, according to his clinical report, and the patient's vascular obstruction improved. The patient's condition was followed for 3 years and no recurrence was observed. Conclusion: Considering the patient's recovery process regarding physical strength, mental status, and removal of coronary artery bypass grabs, it seems that the combination of modern medicine and traditional medicine in Iran might help the treatment of many common diseases, including coronary heart disease. Its treatment is very complicated and needs to be carefully monitored, because inappropriate responses to various therapeutic and surgical treatments may occur. Case Presentation: In this study, 10 patients with second and third degree diabetic foot ulcers were evaluated based on the therapeutic protocols of Iranian Traditional Medicine in Bojnurd. All the patients were hospitalized in one of the hospitals of Bojnurd during 2015-2016 and were undergoing initial treatment. The wounds of patients did not respond to common treatments, and based on the advice of an orthopedic surgeon, amputation was ordered by the physician. Patients were referred to the traditional medicine clinic for advice. The patients had various wounds on the left or right leg with severe inflammation. In other words, the patients had infectious wounds with severe inflammation. After entering the traditional medicine clinic, patients were treated with health and nutrition measures. Drug therapy in these patients is associated with the condition of the disease, and includes medicinal herbs, combined medications and modern blood glucose control drugs. Manual treatments including full back cupping every night until the end of treatment, massage therapy and leech therapy inside and around the wound, were used once every 3 to 7 days with 10 to 12 small, medium and large leeches during 10 sessions for patients. In all the patients, after 40 to 60 days of treatment, the diabetic foot ulcer was cured completely, the physical and mental status of the patients improved and the patients' blood glucose was controlled.
